New Year Update: Tech Assistant 1.2 Released – What’s New

Happy New Year! We are happy to share the new update of our app, Tech Assistant 1.2.
0This update brings many useful features to make reading, listening, and watching content easier and smoother for everyone.

🎵 Introduced Media Player (Audio & Video)

In this update, we have added a fully improved media player that works smoothly with both audio and video.
The media player in Tech Assistant 1.2 is designed to make finding and playing content simple and quick. You will see separate Audio and Video tabs at the bottom of the screen, so you can switch easily between them. At the top right, there is a search option to find files fast. Just below the search area, you will find filter and sort options on the left and right sides to arrange your media the way you want. Below this section, extra tabs like Recent, All, Artists, and Albums help you browse recently played files or explore your full media collection in an organized way.

  • You can now play audio and video in the background. (just play any media and press the home button, you can use any other application along with the media playing in the background)
  • Media playback is available on the lock screen.
  • The player also works with Google Assistant for easy voice control.
  • All audio and video files present on your device are fully supported.

You can also:

  • Sort and filter media files easily.
  • see the list of recent audios/videos in the designated tabs.
  • Control playback speed.
  • Fast forward and rewind.
  • Use shuffle, repeat, and autoplay options.
  • Share media files with others.

🎥 Get Scene Description While Playing Content

A new scene description feature is added to help you understand videos better.
At the top of the video player, you will see a “Describe” button.

When you tap this button:

  • The video pauses automatically.
  • The app captures the current frame or scene.
  • Within a few seconds, it opens a scene description dialog.
  • This dialog gives a clear and detailed description of what is happening in the scene, such as people, objects, actions, background, and environment.

Inside the description dialog:

  • You get a Copy button to copy the description text.
  • You also get a Share button to share the description with others.

Once you close the dialog:

  • The video starts playing again automatically.
  • Playback continues from the exact point where it was paused.

This feature helps users understand visual content without missing any part of the video.

📄 Better PDF Reader

The PDF OCR is now PDF Reader and more powerful and easy to use.

  • It is optimized for accessible PDFs. (can open long PDFs in seconds)
  • An OCR button at the bottom of the screen is added for scanned or image-based PDFs.
  • OCR gives better and clearer results now.
  • Inside the PDF reader a new PDF library is added to save scanned PDFs along with OCR results.

🖼️ Improved Image OCR

  • Image OCR accuracy is improved.
  • Text from images is detected more clearly.
  • Reading results are faster and more reliable.

📚 New Document Reader

  • A new document reader is added which supports Docx files.
  • You can read documents easily.
  • Documents can be saved as PDF for future use.

🔊 Playboard Enhancements (the text to audio output for all text results in our application)

  • Microsoft TTS voices are added for more natural speech.
  • A new auto-speak option is available. which can be controlled by Account menu> Settings
  • Content can start reading automatically without extra steps.
  • Bug fixes for language switching

📰 Enhancements in News tab

  • The playboard is now available on the articles page.
  • Articles show the author’s name and publication name clearly.
  • You can listen to articles directly using the playboard.

Text to DOCX Converter

A new Text to DOCX converter is now available on the home screen. This tool lets you convert your text directly into a DOCX file without leaving the app. You can also adjust the font size and font style before saving the file, giving you full control over how the content looks inside the document.

📝 Text Editor Updates

  • Files can be exported easily in more formats.
  • A new Go to Line option helps you jump to any line quickly.

Tech Assistant 1.2 focuses on better accessibility, smarter media control, and improved reading tools.
This update makes watching videos, reading PDFs, listening to articles, and managing documents easier and more comfortable along with the AI integration in the Media player.
